yeah, i think apple released a dud with this one. i don't like that you're tethered to proprietary earbuds only sold by apple. i use the shuffle to go jogging and the apple earbuds fall out. with no option to get others, what's the point.
that and the fact there's no easy way to go back and forth . . . eh. so yes, a step backward.
